Hi, I made a video with this software, but I soon found myself unable to export a file. When I attempted to export the video, I received an error message that said: "Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click quit, the application will close immediately.
Exception in AVIFileOpen: -2147221164."
I would like to use this software, but I find that anything I do does not change the fact that the only output I can get from the program is as a series of pictures, which I find useless because I have no way to splice the images into a video and add the sound. I would appreciate any help I can get in fixing this problem, and I assume I am doing something wrong since other people have obviously managed to export videos. I tried the tutorial, but I got the same result when I followed the same steps for a video. Please help me, as I would hate to have to try to find another software that allows for non standard background colors.

Which codec for compression do you select when exporting to a file? Have you tried expoting to uncompressed?

CineGobs keyer doesn't support sound. You'll have to add that using some other software. CineGobs keyer is designed as a standalone keyer, not as a video editor compositior etc.

I was using the standard AVI single file, and I guess it wouldnt be too hard to add the audio track in to it in Magix Movie Edit Pro. I am unsure of whether or noth the fact that I imported the file using AVISynth was the problem, but I think the issue pretty much cripples the program.

Yes, but what type of compression did you select when saving? I'm not able to recreate the problem myself.

I am not sure if this is what you mean, but when I hit the output and save button, I chose Video for Windows (*.avi). I do not recall anything about compression in the instructions. I am using version 2.2.4.113 if that helps. I have gone through the entire process without encountering a dialog box that even mentioned compression.

The compression dialog pops up automatically when exporting the video.
Looks like this:

That dialog box has never appeared, so I am unsure of what is wrong with my version of the software, but now I am convinced that it is more flawed then I origonally thought.

I loaded Cinegobs onto a different computer, and I think it is only incompatible with windows xp. If this is the case, I would like to know if there is another version of it compatible with windows xp instead of just Vista.

It works fine with Windows XP. Tons of people use it on Windows XP. I've just used it 5 minutes ago on Windows XP. There must be something wrong with your XP installation.
Are you using a standard 32 bit Windows XP? Have you installed all updates (especially .net updates)?
I have no idea why you have this problem. You could try reinstalling .net 2.0.

I attempted to reinstall .net 2.0, but the computer comes up with a message saying the versions are incompatible. I am unsure if I could safely manually remove the program and reinstall it or if it will damage the computer.

Remember to check all the requirements on the .net download page.
