Hi, Thanks for this great looking software… so far at least because I haven't been able to use it on my first try no matter what I did.

The footage I am trying to import is from a Nikon D90, 1280x720, 24p.

I am on Windows 7 and the portable software runs OK but fails to open video files giving the error:

Unhandled Exception

The following is the report it produces. I checked requirements and I seem to fit the bill. What seems to be the problem?

Thanks in advance…

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

What's the format you're importing? AVI? AVI is usually limited to 4GB file size, so if it's larger than that it could cause problems.

If that's the problem, I suggest using something like Virtual Dub to open the file and save it out as a sequence of frames (I usually use PNG format, you could use other formats too). Then import the image sequence into CineGOBS (just choose the first frame and CineGOBS will figure it out).

Thanks for the reply…

No, the fileformat and size are not factors. I tried it with AVIs with DV and avchd codecs with different file sizes and none was bigger than 4 GB. Actually, almost all of them were short clips. I also tried it with a wmv file as well.

None worked…

Still trying to use this but to no avail…

Any other suggestions?

Definitely try importing it as an image sequence. AVI is a container format that adds a layer of "things that can go wrong". If you really want to use AVI, convert it to uncompressed and try that (I would use VirtualDub, I'm sure there's many other ways to do it).
